When Leo first contacted us, his bin was frozen with 20% moisture corn sitting at the top. He had been running his fans manually but was struggling with the fluctuating temperatures, which were reaching 85°F that week. We recommended switching to OPI Blue’s automated grain conditioning system, which would help him achieve his goal of drying the corn down to 15% by July without the risk of spoilage.
In less than two months, OPI’s system successfully reduced the moisture content from 20% to 15%, allowing Leo to haul his corn to the elevator for sale without penalties. Throughout the process, we worked closely with Leo to adjust his settings and ensure that the corn was dried evenly.
On 3/28/25, IFND advised Leo to rest his fans when the temperature exceeded 60°F and set up automated drying goals within our ManageGrain.com software. By 4/10/25, the team saw that the corn was drying nicely, with just one more layer at the top to finish off. IFND adjusted the moisture parameters to ensure consistent drying throughout the bin. By 5/5/25, Leo contacted his Dealer because of a CO2 alert. After reviewing the grain, the team found some 19% corn remaining and adjusted the automation settings to maintain optimal drying conditions at 60°F in the evenings.
